Couples therapy.
Understanding what happens between two people.
For couples who want to understand conflict, attachment and relationship patterns, find new forms of contact, or work out how their shared path continues. Online or in person.
Stance
No search for the person at fault.
Couples therapy is not the repair of a broken relationship. It is a room in which what actually happens between two people can become visible – beyond the version you assign each other in an argument.
Common ground includes recurring conflict and escalation, withdrawal, communication, trust, infidelity, sexuality, differing needs, boundaries, closeness and distance, older hurts, and very different ways of processing stress and regulating.
Both perspectives keep their validity. Instead of establishing who started it, we look at how a dynamic builds – and where it can shift.
An open outcome
Separation and decision belong here too.
Couples therapy does not have to aim at keeping a relationship together. It can hold questions that are almost impossible to ask calmly at home.
Do we want to and can we continue together? What would have to change? What belongs to me, and what arises between us? Is separating the more honest path – and how could it be done more consciously and respectfully?
Couples already thinking about separation are in the right place. Clarity is a legitimate outcome.
Parents
When children are in the room, even when they are not.
How parents handle conflict, withdrawal, escalation, boundaries and separation shapes the emotional climate children live in. Ordinary conflict does not automatically harm children; what matters is more how it is conducted and repaired.
So we look at how conflict is handled in children's presence, how children can be kept out of adult conflict as far as possible, how parental cooperation is protected, and how a separation might be communicated and shaped.
A couple relationship can end while shared responsibility as parents continues. For many, that distinction is the most relieving part of the work.
Neurodivergence
Different systems, not missing willingness.
Differences in attention, sensory processing, communication, executive function, emotional regulation, need for structure, spontaneity, recovery and withdrawal, closeness or conflict processing are easily read as indifference, disregard or rejection.
Often what is actually involved are different neurocognitive needs. This is not pathology, and it is not a question of which partner is "the problem" – neurodivergence frequently concerns both, in different ways.
If you want to look at this more closely, the page on adult ADHD and neurodivergence goes further.
Who this is for
Couples from many different backgrounds.
This work is open to English- and German-speaking couples, international couples, neurodivergent couples, LGBTQ+ couples, married and unmarried couples, and couples at very different stages – from early years together to the question of whether to continue at all.
Individual attachment experience, protective strategies, nervous-system responses and neurodivergent needs all shape relational dynamics. Trauma-informed individual work and couples therapy remain distinct offers, and not every relationship conflict is trauma-related.
Format & fee
Online couples therapy or in person.
From three sessions onwards, 100 minutes each, online or in person in Berlin-Mitte. Further sessions as needed. 290 € per session, subject to VAT.
Online couples therapy means taking part from a familiar environment, which suits internationally based or frequently travelling couples particularly well. Depending on technical and therapeutic fit, it also works when you are temporarily in different places. In demanding professional lives an online appointment is usually the one that actually holds – continuity instead of rescheduling.
Online is not an informal video call; the therapeutic structure stays the same. At the same time, this format does not automatically suit every couple or every crisis, so we look at fit in the initial conversation.
